Parents play an important role in preparing their teens for end-of-year celebrations. If your teenager is planning to partake in Schoolies, it’s important to talk to your teen about their plans. This webinar will draw together three groups integrally involved in the safe running of Schoolies celebrations each year: * Safer Schoolies Initiative (QLD Government) - Promotes participation in Schoolies but seeks to enhance the safety and responsible behaviour of school leavers at the Gold Coast, Airlie Beach and Yeppoon. Each location provides services to support school-leavers, including street patrols, walk-home services, schoolies-only areas, free water and medical assistance. * Schoolies.com - Matt Lloyd (Managing Director) will outline tips and advice for the practicalities of booking accommodation etc. for Schoolie venues across the country. Schoolies.com is in its 30th year of operation with over 580,000 students having used their services in that time. They offer centralised, online (or telephone) booking service for over 140 properties in all popular schoolies destinations nationally (QLD, NSW,VIC, WA) and internationally (Bali, Fiji). Packages offered to students include Photo ID passes, 24 Hour helpline for students/parents/property managers plus additional security arrangements. * RedFrog Group - Hear from this volunteer group who are on the ground during celebrations and understand the dangers Please note – PARENTS do NOT need to register – just turn up at the following link at the advertised time - https://zoom.us/j/107557266 Parents will NOT be required to speak or be seen on video.
