Find an Independent School

Independent schools form a key part of the education landscape in Australia and sit alongside government and Catholic schools in contributing to Australian society. Independent schools come in all sizes, from small community schools to large Prep to Year 12 schools and cater for families from a variety of social and economic backgrounds.

Queensland's independent schools are as diverse as the students and communities they serve. Search for an independent school that meets your child's needs from ISQ member schools, including over 230 independent schools* from 37 local government areas across Queensland.

You can use the search tool to find an independent school by its name or within a suburb, simply by typing into the relevant search fields.

Choose from multiple fields to find a school that will fit your child's needs, including education type (e.g. primary only), gender type (e.g. co-ed), delivery mode (e.g. classroom) and affiliation (e.g. Anglican).

Select 'More' and find additional search criteria. You can choose to search for independent schools that offer boarding facilities, is a Special Assistance School, a Special School, or a School Registered Training Organisation, or hosts international students.

* Six Catholic schools have also chosen to be members of ISQ, enabling them to access our professional services and training. While these schools are not independent schools as such, they are included in the search below, due to being ISQ member schools.
