Independent Schools Queensland (ISQ) welcomes the opportunity to comment on the draft State Planning Policy 2026 and supports its focus on strong communities, responsive infrastructure and efficient land use. ISQ recommends clearer direction to ensure suitable land for schools across the government, Catholic and independent sectors is identified, protected and delivered in a timely manner to meet Queensland’s growing demand for school places.

ISQ looks forward to working with the Queensland Government to strengthen planning for educational infrastructure and support communities to access local schooling, preserve parental choice and ensure school sites are considered early in residential development.
