Student Support

Independent schools place a strong focus on improving student wellbeing and building positive partnerships with parents.

A characteristic shared by all independent schools is their commitment to the welfare and wellbeing of students. Independent Schools Queensland (ISQ) works closely with member schools to improve the support services that schools provide to students.

Member schools can access ISQ's full range of information, services and resources to boost member school’s student wellbeing initiatives relating to:

  • bullying
  • mental health
  • drug education
  • domestic and family violence
  • health conditions
  • eSafety.

Students with Disability

All schools are required to provide every student with disability with the appropriate level of support and reasonable adjustments to ensure they are able to participate in learning activities on the same basis as students without disability.

Member schools can access ISQ's full range of information and services to:

  • support students with disability
  • access funding under the Queensland Government's Education Adjustment Program
  • report for the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD).
