Letter to the Editor, published in The Courier-Mail on 2 February 2021.

The facts do not support assertions made in the article, “Private schools get too pricey” (C-M, Jan 30).

Enrolment data shows Queensland’s independent schooling sector continues to grow in both school and student numbers.

The sector’s share of student enrolments has lifted from 14.7 percent to 15.2 percent over the past three years, confirming the value parents place on the quality of educational experiences their children receive in independent schools.

A number of independent schools reported new enrolments during and after the COVID-19 home learning period from parents impressed by the high calibre of learning, wellbeing and support provided by independent schools to their students and families.
